Another great day in space flight history . . . on July 16, 1969, Apollo 11 lifted off for its journey to the moon. Five days later Neil Armstrong walked upon the lunar surface and putzed around a bit with Buzz Aldrin. On July 24 the crew returned to Earth and President Nixon presented them with a bag of Sliders.
