Mission Update / Rain Shortens Flight, Rocket at Oddo’s Until 1:30 / Click Here For Food For Thought

Mission Update:
Orbiting until only 1:30 due to weather, but here’s some food for thought regarding the philosophical issues relating to the use of local ingredients whenever possible . . .
Avocados, pineapples and mangos are all delicious, no doubt. But it just seems wrong that an underripe, often genetically modified fruit or vegetable is harvested, treated with some ripening inducing or inhibiting agent, packed and shipped thousands of miles to wind up in the grocery store with its very own barcode affixed. This reflects a complete lack of connection to the land surrounding us and isolates us, usually within the blue hues of televised corporate evangelism. But, I do say again, avocados, pineapples and mangos are glorious . . . they are just more glorious enjoyed in a hammock within earshot of swaying palms and blinding Caribbean light. Now, discuss.
